Ingredients for Fish Tacos Recipe
- tilapia – you can use any white fish you prefer or what’s on sale. You can also sub for salmon or shrimp.
- seasonings: flour, garlic powder, cornstarch, salt, taco seasoning, black pepper
- taco sauce: yogurt (or sour cream), mayo, lime juice, salt, taco seasoning
- toppings: cabbage, cilantro, tomatoes, red onion, avocado
How to Make Fish Tacos
In a medium bowl or large plate, combine the garlic powder, salt, flour, black pepper, taco seasoning and corn starch, set aside.
For the fish taco sauce: In a small bowl add taco seasoning, pepper, mayo, lime juice and yogurt. Whisk together until combined and smooth.
Heat one tablespoon of olive oil into a nonstick skillet over medium high heat.
Dip the fish into the flour mixture and fry in the skillet for 2-3 minutes per side, until crisp and golden brown. Take care not to overcook.
Remove the fish and set aside. Rinse the pan and heat tortillas 10-15 seconds per side or in the microwave.
Fill each tortilla with fish and your favorite toppings.
Drizzle with sauce and serve.

- 16 oz. tilapia
- 1/2 c flour
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tsp taco seasoning
- ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 8 corn tortillas
- Fish Taco Sauce:
- 1/2 c plain yogurt or sour cream
- 1/4 c mayo
- 1 lime, juiced
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp taco seasoning
