These apple dessert recipes are the perfect addition to your fall baking! Find anything from cakes, tarts, muffins, cobblers, fair food, and more!
Fall and baking go hand in hand! These delicious apple dessert recipes are so good! I’ve compiled a list of my favorites (there’s a big variety!)
Some of these apple recipes don’t require baking, and some even use your air fryer! Go through the list and earmark your favorites to save for future dessert ideas.
We LOVE using apples in cooking this time of year (apples in season are so cheap and delicious!), and I even made a list of all my favorite apple dinner recipes too!
What apples are good for desserts?
Not all apples are created equally! Some apple types are more suited for baking and cooking, so keep that in mind while you’re shopping for ingredients!
- Pink Lady. This apple is a nice blend between sweet and sour, so it’s a great apple for baking!
- Jonagold. These go bad faster that most apple types, so buy with the intent to use quickly! They are relatively sweet, so keep that in mind.
- Braeburn. These are awesome if you still want your apples to retain a little crisp. They do well for breads and muffins!
- Honeycrisp. These have a nice flavor that’s not too sweet or too tart, and they stay nice and crisp even after baking, just like their name suggests. This is a baker’s favorite!
What dessert can I make with apples?
- Pies. This is the classic dessert we all think of when we think of apple dessert recipes!
- Cobblers and Crisps. This list includes both, and even handheld versions for easier eating at parties!
- Cookies. Apple cookie recipes are SO good!
- Muffins and Cupcakes. Frosting or no frosting, apples are awesome in muffins and cupcakes!
- Cinnamon Rolls. If you’ve never had a cinnamon roll with apples you’re missing out!
- Dips & Salads. While they aren’t at all real “salads”, these apple dessert salads and dips are great for apple desserts!
- Breads & Cakes. There’s nothing like a delicious apple bread, or a spiced apple cake for an easy fall dessert idea!
